I have a 4r100 and have setup analog input 5 as multiplexed/cruise and digital input 7 as true manual upshift is .5v and downshift is 2v, my question is I can only get it to shift at 1-2 and and there is a delay at commanded it will not go to 3-4 and just keeps reving. Does it look at WOT settings and/or cal a as a reference or do I need to do a calb with low settings to shift on demand. Also how can I setup the converter to shift locked all the time from 2nd gear on up.
Tim,
Check your voltage when the upshift and downshift buttons are NOT pressed. The voltage needs to return to below 0.10V or above 4.70V after the button is released. If it doesn't then you'll only be able to press the button one time then it will stop working. If possible do a datalog of the issue and email it to me. The true manual mode has no logic on the upshifts. It should upshift when the button is pressed regardless of vehicle speed, engine rpm or throttle position. When downshifting the controller checks to make sure that your not about to overrev the engine before allowing a downshift. The manual mode will not allow you to go above your shifter position. If the shifter is in 3rd then the highest gear you can shift to is 3rd. There is also a shift timer that runs after each shift to prevent rapid shifting. By default it is set 1 sec.
The easiest way to set the converter lockup to 2nd gear is to copy your 1-2 upshift tables and paste them into your converter lockup table and then add an offset of like 5mph. Copy the 2-1 downshift and do the same thing. Make sure the lowest gear to allow lockup is set to 2.
I tesred it this am and upshift was .45v and downshift was 1.85v and at rest was 4.97v. In monitor mode it would show it upshift and not downshift. Here is the cool part......reverse the voltages and make the upshift a larger value than the downshift and it works fine (reversed the upshift and downshift buttons on the cruise).
