Checking to see where you people are at with the D200.
I've checked the store its not in there I gather then it not commercially available yet if that's the case any idea when it will be available for purchase.
Will OBD2 be implemented on release if not any idea when it will be?

I'm sure their are quite a few people looking for answers here so your saying its another 10 months to wait for the D200 with OBD2 or is D200 going to be available before then without OBD2 ?
I'm sure you are all working hard but I've been hanging around here for a year or more anticipating when the product will be available for purchase.
I'll test it for user friendly handling & OBD11 if that's all were waiting on.
That reminds me can you answer this one as well, is the EGT module going to be available when the D200 is?

The D200 is available if you are using an aftermarket ecu that we support, like AEM, FAST, Microtech, Tec3, and soon to have Motec. The reason being why the OBD2 isn't released, because relaying the information that the car has from a stock ECU, some only communicate at 6-10 times per second which makes the D200 look bad as a logger when the maps recorded are choppy and hard to get good data from. When most aftermarket ECU relay at 25-30 times per second giving you smooth graphs and data to work with for tuners. The EGT's are available as well for the D200. _________________ Powertrain Control Solutions thanks you for your current or future business @

So, are efforts being made to address this issue?
For those of us who have been waiting a year and a half for this product to come to market, it's extremely frustrating to see, "It'll be a few more weeks/months" posted every couple of months, with absolutely zero information as to what is really going on!
It would be nice to see periodic status reports - what's finished, what is being worked on, estimated schedule to completion, etc.

Jeff,
We realize that the OBD2 interface with the D200 has been along wait for all of us. Although we have shipped over 80 D200 units to happy satisfied customers that are using Aftermarket ECU for street and racing applications. I understand that you are will to wait to have the D200 compatible with your OBD2 computer, let’s see what we can do to speed things up for the users on the forum. What is the application/project that you will be using the D200 for? What data are you trying to get from the stock ECU? _________________ Powertrain Control Solutions thanks you for your current or future business @

O.K. I like what you people At PCS are doing. The nice one touch screen would suit my application instead of running a lap top all the time.
OBD2 is the only thing holding me back thou I may not wait as I’m after EGT to set up individual cylinder trimming for my "V8 GM LS1 powered vehicle."
I’ll get the ball rolling this is the basic I’ll be looking for out side of the external inputs which I can use for i.e. fuel pressure/wideband.
Basic Pids:
AFR (Commanded Fuel)
TP (Throttle Position)
ECT (Engine Temperature C)
IAT (Intake Air Temperature C)
RPM (Engine RPM)
MAP (Intake Manifold Absolute Pressure)
SPARKADV (Ignition Timing Advance)
KR (Retard Due To Knock)
VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor KMH)
MAF (Mass Airflow Raw Frequency)
Advanced Pids:
SHRTFT 1 & 2 (Short term Fuel Trims Banks 1 & 2)
LONGFT 1 & 2 (Long Term Fuel Trims Banks 1 & 2)
INJDC 1 & 2 (Injector Duty Cycle Banks 1 & 2)
IBPW 1 & 2 (Injector Base pulse Width Banks 1 & 2)
HO2S11 & HO2S21 (Heater O2 Sensor Voltage Banks 1 & 2)
IAC (Idle Air Control Position)
FTC (Fuel Trim Number)

Is OBD-2 the only thing that's preventing you from releasing the "final" version of the D-200? Is everything else in "final" form?
Honestly, I never expected you would fully-support OBD-2 on my vehicle anyway. I have a '97 Subaru Impreza, and I suspect it may use different communications protocols than the vastly-more-popular newer WRX models. I have assumed all along that any OBD-2 information that I could log from the vehicle would be the slow data-rate typical of other OBD-2 "loggers".
I have a TEC-2 on the vehicle, and that's the primary source of "logging" info that I'd be looking for. I suspect you already support this ECU.
What I'd really like to see is a features list and an "options" list. We still have not seen a final feature-set of what the D-200 can do in "base" form, nor have we seen what add-on modules you have developed for it and how much those modules will cost. There has been talk of EGT (which I'm very interested in) and GPS, among other things.
Please don't limit your response to _just_ the items I've mentioned. GIVE US INFO!!! Tell us what the units can do, currently, what features you will be adding to it, and the estimated timetable for all of that.
Thanks much for taking the time to reply. _PLEASE_ keep us updated as to what's going on! I dislike having to come onto this forum and stir things up just to get an update.
I agree with you here Jeff I to dislike having to come onto this forum and stir things up just to get an update.
It’s been a couple of days now and still we have not had a reply. What the heck is going on. It doesn’t leave a lot of confidence for those coming on here reading these posts anyway I will leave it at that and live in hope we have an update as addressed in the previous post.
Those 80 that do have the D200 post up and let us know your experiences.
Hey guys,
While an updated feature list is being put together you can download the software and user's manual and thumb around to see what the D200 is capable of. The user manual is not finished but has a ton of information in it.
As stated before, the D200 is currently for sale but only through our dealers. Once our dealers have some time to discover any bugs or last minute gotta have it features we will begin selling them in our online store. I understand your frustration with the lack of information and we will keep you up to date on the D200 status as it changes. Race season is about to begin and we are trying to get a new car built so we will be kinda busy for the next 2-3 weeks. You are free to call us if you have specific questions that you need answered quickly.
As for a quick list of D200 capabilities:
8 Channel EGT module available
Can have 2 egts modules connected for a total of 16 egts
3 Axis Accelerometer Availble
GPS for track or position mapping available
Track mapping software is NOT complete yet
Can communicate with most aftermarket ECU's for Data input and logging
Supported ECUs list changes weekly
8 Analog, 2 Speed inputs for additional sensors
Warning system can be triggered off any available data to the dash
Expansion module for adding 8 analog, 4 speed inputs 4-6 weeks out
Logging rates are adjustable for each onboard channel up to 1000hz
2 Outputs for Boost control, shift light, warning lights etc
USB upload to PC
Can store several logs on the unit without erasing old ones
Play back with VCR controls for viewing a datalog on the D200
Can do all of the tuning for our transmission controller- Shift points, shift firmness, torque converter lockup, etc
Can control the KONI electric shocks, giving you up to 16 stages to set your shocks
Multi stage boost control gives you up to 16 stages for drag racing, with adjustable ramp rates and teh stages can be based off anything connected to the D200
Koni shock control, boost control, and 1000hz logging are an extra charge, everything else is standard
I'll add more when i get a chance.
If your interested in buying one, try www.hpworks.com. They are an Electromotive dealer and have lots of experience with the D200.
Thanks very much for the informative reply. And thanks also for the link to the D200 Beta manual. I've been looking for this, and did not see it over there in the "Beta" section.
The manual answers most of my questions. Looks like I'll need a "serial kit" to connect my TEC-2 to the D-200, and I'm also interested in the EGT module, though I most definitely don't need 8 channels of logging! Wow. Any estimate on how much the serial kit and EGT module will cost, and are there any plans to offer a 1 or 2 channel EGT module?
Sounds like Boost control is a pretty advanced feature. I wish it had been included in the base product, but I agree with your decision to make it an unlockable option, rather than increasing the price of the base unit, since not everyone will use it. I'm not even sure if I'll ever use it.
Looks like a great product, and I look forward to purchasing one. Is it possible to buy one directly? I don't have any remotely "local" dealer here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.... <Edit: I just noticed your link to HP Works - I'll talk to them about purchase.>
Answers to my questions about the cost of the serial kit and EGT module would be much appreciated - thanks!
Jeff,
I think the Serial ECU connection kit is only around $25. I'll get an exact price Monday. The EGT module is $395. If you only want 1 or 2 channels we will have single channel egt adapters in a few weeks. These connect to the analog inputs on the D200, but are much less expensive.
I downloaded and installed the Beta D-200 software. I see the TEC-2 is listed under "view supported devices", but it doesn't seem to allow any channels to be logged. The TEC-3 seems fully supported. In addition, only TEC-3 and Innovative Wideband are listed as RS-232 connection options.
Is TEC-2 support coming soon, or am I doing something wrong?
Jeff,
The TEC2 is fully supported also. The software is just lagging behind in what the D200 can do in a few areas. Now that the supported ECU list is complete for the first release the software will be updated soon. You can setup the TEC2 from the dash now, just not from the software. So far I know we have Autronic, Microtech, Motec, Electromotive, FAST, and Aem ecus supported. I'll get a complete list tomorrow.
Also, the D200 logs all parameters from the ECUs like the TEC2 software. You can't log individual parameters like RPM or TPS. However the onboard channels can be logged individually.
If you only want 1 or 2 channels we will have single channel egt adapters in a few weeks. These connect to the analog inputs on the D200, but are much less expensive.
Hey Russ - did anything ever come of this? I keep checking the online store, but haven't seen anything yet.
