I have tried using both the lockup per gear as well as the normal lockup. Either way I can setup at what speed and/or tps to lockup the convertor (and also unlock it). No problems there. My problem however relates to the other two check boxes (they say TCC unlocks during upshifts and TCC unlocks during downshifts).

I can not get these to work.

My scenario is the following...

2000 Ford Excursion w/ an 03 5.9 cummins and a 48RE trans. TCC is setup to allow lockup in 3rd gear and higher. So at my predefined speed it locks the T/C, then it shifts to 4th gear with the T/C still locked. Makes for a very hard shift. I would like it to unlock during the shift and then relock the T/C. I have both boxes checked (to unlock the TCC during shifting). I must be missing something?

How can I accomplish this?

Also, I adjusted the PWM pressure control to unlock the convertor more quickly (duty cycle from 100% to 0% in 1 sec). Should I increase the % per second on up to 2402 (highest value allowed)?

I did a shift/lock per gear and it is way more user friendly for that stuff.

2000 F-250 DESTROKED 12v 2nd Gen, 4R100 4x4 Daily Driver/Truck Puller.

Based on the datalogging I did, it appears the buttons to unlock during shifts has no affect on the TC (atleast in a 48re application). It appears to be solely based upon the lockup tables/speeds filled in. I am using the per gear setup.

Currently, to avoid a locked 3/4 shift I just eliminated the use of the TC in 3rd gear. Only allow it in 4th.

When I was messing with it a few weeks ago I could set the 4th gear lockup speed to like 70 and the 3rd gear lockup to say 35. It would lock during 3rd, then unlock when shifting to 4th and not relock until 70. So it seems that the TC lockup is completely based upon the tables. I was hoping the unlock during shift button would just unlock it during the shift and then relock right away but it doesn't seem to work that way?

I'm done messing with this for now since I had to give back the borrowed laptop I was using...

Do you have the valvebody from ATS that is used with the TCU ? Did your datalog show an attempt to unlock the TC? If you have the data file can you e-mail it to me for me to look at ?

Yes, using the standalone valvebody from ATS. I have the datalog somewhere around here. It doesn't show any attempt to unlock the TC... If I can find it, I will email it to you.

That is fine, I have also set the TC Lockup at about 2 or so MPH lower than the shift point for that gear and it will shift into 3rd unlocked and then will lockup after the shift.

I'm alittle confused by this statement. Did you mean the lockup is at a slightly higher mph that the shift point?

For example, your 3-4 shift is at 45 mph, and your lockup in 4th gear is at 47 mph. You are driving down the road in 3rd gear, TC locked up, and when you hit 45 it shifts to 4th gear and unlocks the convertor at the same time. Then at 47 it relocks the convertor?

I figured I could make mine work this way, but didn't want to have to adjust both my 3rd and 4th gear tables for each throttle position to work correctly. If the button worked in the setup to globally unlock during upshifts, it would be much easier. However, I don't believe its possible.
