| I see in the wiring diag that there are pin outs for OBD2, will I be able to use my cars OBD2 communication to get sensor readings on the D200, or am I just going to have to wire all the analog inputs. |

| The D200 does not support OBD2 at this time. We will be adding support in the future with a firmware upgrade. |

| Sweet, I guess I will have to wire all the analog inputs to the sensors for now. Off to study the Scuby manual. Thanks |

What's the status of the OBDII firmware update?
How about the Can buss update as well? This would make things much much easier for the rest of my install since I'm almost out of analog connections. |

We will be adding CAN support for newer vehicles before the OBD2 support is added. The CAN support should be available in a few months. The OBD2 support will be added later.

Any progress on OBD-2 support? It's been "on hold" for several years now.
I'm particularly curious, since Innovate Motorsports now sells their OT-1 OpenTune OBD-2 logger. Apparently they've figured out how to make it work?
When I bought the D-200, OBD-2 was still listed as a feature. Now I see that it's been removed from the list, which has me concerned that PCS has decided that it's just too much hassle. If so, that's very unfortunate: The main reason I bought this unit was to bring together the information from my stock ECU and my TEC-2. Right now, I'm only getting half of functionality that I thought I was buying.
So - what's going on? The very low amount of traffic on these forums isn't very encouraging, and development news has been a bit sparse.

Jeff,
The OBD-2 Support is not on hold, its just low on our priority list. We are working on the CAN OBD2 support now. Figuring it out is not the issue. The issue is that OBD2 is a poor interface for logging. We have tested the D200 on an ISO-9141 bus and the results were not good. If your trying to log or display 5-6 parameters the data only updates 1/sec. We have been adding additional features and ECU support on regular basis.

| logging with a poor sample rate is no fun as the information look very poor on the graph, rpm is terrible at that sample rate. |

The HPT software uses a special high speed mode that is not supported by standard OBD2. Some of the manufactures have a different mode they can use for high speed communications. I think we have the GM high speed mode is the only one we have the documentation for. We are exploring a few options right now on how to get the OBD2 interface finished quickly.

Like 9sec, I could also take advantage of even just logging one of 2 channels. I'd like to see more speed, but that's out of your hands.
Do your comments apply to ALL OBD-2 systems, or just the pre-CAN versions? I can definitely see myself moving to a newer car sometime in the not-too-distant future, and it's doubtful that I'd be running another aftermarket ECU. It would be very nice to still be able to use the D200, beyond hardwiring in some sensors.
Speaking of sensors - have you considering supporting other sensors beyond the ones you sell in the online store? I suppose it's just a matter of finding a table of the sensor's output and programming the D200 accordingly? VDO sells several different oil pressure sensors, and they are quite affordable.

CAN is a different story all together, it is very fast when compared to OBD II
you can use any sensor most of the VDO or autometer ones are just variable resistors, they will work but will not be as accurate as the PCS sensors due to usually earthing through the block, so if you get a bad earth through the thread it not read right _________________ 9sec LS1 powered Commodore with PCS D200 |
