Hello, I received an XFC unit with my motorcycle turbo kit and honestly don't know where to start. This is going to be running 5 additional injectors on my turbo plenum. I have an 05 yamaha R1 and need a hand on where to start pulling, cutting, and splicing into the stock harness to get this thing going. I have the unit, the main harness with serial port, and injector harness. Thanks in advance, Adam

Adam,
I'm not sure I can be much help on this but I'll try my best. Typically you'll need to a Map sensor signal and an RPM signal for the additional injector control to function correctly. Is there a reason why you have 5 injectors instead of just 4? Did it include a MAP sensor and wiring for it? Do you know if the XFC came preprogrammed?

Sorry for the lack of info. The PCS did not come with a base map. I have the plenum with 4 additional injectors and supposedly the 5th injector is for the alcohol injection system and it's supposed to run at the same freq as the injectors. The bike is a 2005 yamaha R1. I have the complete turbo system. I just need help splicing this unit into the right places to get her going. The factory ecm will run the standard 4 injectors and the PCS will run the additional 4 injectors and if possible the alcohol injector. LMK, Adam

Adam,
I'm not sure how thats going to work. Has someone tested it? Do you have the wiring diagrams for your bike? We will need to locate power, ground, and a tach signal for the XFC. Do you have a MAP sensor that was included with the kit?

Russ, there was no map sensor with the kit so I guess I need one from you. I'm going to hand the bike over to a local turbo bike tuner here and let him finish up the wiring and plumbing. All I have of your system is the XFC, a manual for it, a main harness, and an injector harness. I guess what I'm missing is a MAP sensor and a CD rom so that he can download the software and be able to tune the bike with the XFC on. LMK, Adam

Adam,
The software can be downloaded from our website. The important thing is to get the XFC setup correctly. have your tuner/installed give us a call before he gets started.

Russ, sounds good. I found the CDRom in the manual so I'm good there. I still don't have a MAP sensor. Does the map sensor wire look for a 0-5V DC current? If so then I can tee it into my methanol controller that has it's own external 3bar map sensor already in it. Otherwise I need you to send me a MAP asap! Thanks, Adam

Adam,
You can tap into the MAP sensor on the methanol controller if you know what the calibration is for the sensor. Does it look like a GM Map sensor? If you still need another sensor just give us a call and we'll get it to you the same day.

Russ, I asked my water injection controller guy and he said it gives a linear readout 0-29psi at 0-5volts so we could probably program that into the controller. I'll keep you posted.

Russ, which wire on the main harness is for the MAP sensor? Is it the little gray female plug that has 2 small wires going to it? Which wire is for what? Thanks, Adam

Adam,
Its the Gray wire with a white stripe. Here is the schematic for the harness with suggested connections:
