Hello PCS,

Vehicle: 1991 Dodge Stealth 3.0l, NA for now - 500hp turbo motor next year.

Vehicle currently has an ATX, leaning toward an IPT http://www.importperformancetrans.com/mitsubishiauto.shtml ATX. If I stay auto, I am VERY interested in your product. I see the computer interface - I assume this would be used on a laptop in my car?? I see the wiring harness is $150, this would include necessary wires to tap into stock locations to provide all input needed to your computer? Does the controller / harness come with wiring intstructions & interface for my vehicle?

The TCU has paddle & button shift capability. Will your unit accept +V to shift up or down? If I build a paddle shift system, with 1 paddle up and 1 paddle down - will this work?

What is the ease of use in setting up the controller? I am fairly mechanically & computer proficient but I have never tuned before. Will I be capable of programming the unit myself? How long can I expect to work on the unit before I am able to operate it compenently?

Any and all input / suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. The IPT transmission is going to cost about 5k, and nearly another 1k for your products - so I want to make sure I'm making educated decisions and not wasting money.

Thanks in advance!

A laptop is required for initial setup and adjustment of the shift points, shift firmness, and Torque converter lockup.

Since we don't have a plug-in harness for your application you would be required to use one of our universal harnesses. The universal harness can be wired in 2 ways. One is to go to the factory tcm and splice in the necessary connections keeping your stock wiring intact. The other is to cut off the factory connectors at the transmission and splice them onto our wiring harness. We can provide you with directions for either method.

The TCU will accept either a +V(>5V) or a ground(<0.5V) input for a shift up or down. You select in the software what method you are using. You can have a 1 up 1 down or a 2 up 2 down paddle system.

We set the controller up for your transmission here before it is shipped. You are responsible for tuning to your liking. The system is very easy and quick to calibrate. I would expect to spent no more than a few hours tuning once the system is installed and working.

The only suggestion I can make is make sure you need our controller before purchasing it. If your not careful or don't have any idea what your doing the transmission can be damaged quickly.
