I'm working on a 4T65E. On the monitor screen I can see the gear select input LEDs changing corresponding to the gear selection, so I know the inputs are wired correctly, and they are properly set up in the gear selection chart to match the GM service manual. The gear indicator on the monitor screen does not change, it is always at 1 no matter what gear I select. The trans will not shift out of first gear. RPM, Speed, etc seem to be indicated correctly on the monitor.
Any suggestions?
Is there a base calibration file I can download?
It is a code XA '99 4T65E-HD.
I spent a few hours with the car and got it figured out. It seems the gear select inputs 1,2,and 3 need to be configured on the gear selection chart even if they are disabled in inputs. Doesn't make much sense, but it works.
Jon,
They would need to be configured if they are defined as Gear Selects in the Digital Input Chart. If you disable them in the digital input chart you will have to reset the unit before it will work correctly. Our new 4T65E calibrations just use the gear selects 1,2,and 3.
The harness that came with my unit did not have the external gear select switch connector. The gear select wires were going into the round 20 pin connector, so I pulled them out and ran them to the external gear select switch. So now I have gear select inputs 1,2,3 going to the internal pressure switches and inputs 4,5,6,7 going to the external gear select switch and it seems to be working fine.
