Im a member of Mazda3Forums, and have already contacted Dee regarding my situation. Im going to be sending my XFC back so it can be benchmarked to make sure there is nothing wrong with it. But here is the issue Ive been experiencing. The car starts up and runs fine without the XFC unit installed, but as soon as I connect it, my coil pack over cylinder 1 shorts out which in turn blows a fuse and kicks on the PATS system. After talking to Dee we have come to the conclusion that its either a wiring diagram issue, an issue with the actual unit, or something else that nobody seems to be able to figure out. Just decided to check out this forum to see if there were any ideas as to what may be happening.
Have you tried just disconnecting the coil pack from the XFC to see if the car runs correctly? The coil pack wire is just used for measuring rpm. Do your coils have 2 wires or 3 wires?
