It's possible to disable the TCU by downloading a corrupted calibration file. One possible way of doing this is to select "Save Calibration File" without first opening or uploading a calibration. When a corrupted calibration is loaded into the TCU the unit will have communication issues and will no longer function correctly. To fix this download the following program.

http://www.powertraincontrolsolutions.com/download/tcu/115Fix.exe

Run the program on the computer where the TCU software is installed. Select the com port for the TCU from the list and press "Patch TCU". Once its patched a new calibration file can be downloaded into the unit to correct the problems.
