Hi,

I have a 2004 Accord V6 with a five-speed automatic. I'd like to add paddle-shifters, but haven't seen specific information on the website about how to do that. Can PCS fabricate a harness for my application? And do you have more information about a paddle-shift conversion, including where to buy parts?

Thanks,
RK

I also have an 2003 accord and I am interested in a PCS as well as the paddle shifting. Is this a possible option, what parts will I need, and how much will it set me back.

It is possible to use a paddle shifter with a 2003 or 2004 Honda Accord with an automatic transmission. Specifically you would need our TCU, a wiring harness for the TCU to work with this transmission and a paddle shifting system like the "Shrifter" by twist machine.

The greatest problem for a modern vehicle with a low level of modifications is that our Transmission Controller is standalone. This means that you would need to unplug the stock transmission controller and connect our TCU to the transmission. When most modern stock transmission controllers are unplugged, they can throw a plethora of diagnostic trouble codes. Many people get around this issue by using standalone engine management. Some people get around this issue by spending time to fool the stock transmission controller. Some simply don't deal with the issue at all and remove the trouble code light in their dash. We feel it necessary to warn customers of these problems becuase we would rather lose a sale than have an unhappy customer.

With these problems in mind, it is possible to handle these transmissions though I would not recommend it unless the vehicles have already been heavily modified. Feel free to contact me if you do want to move forward with this application.
